What is ISO 14000? :

ISO 14000 is a series of standards issued by ISO on environmental management. It is published to address the worsening global pollution and ecological damages, ozone layer damages, global warming, biodiversity disappearance and many other issues threatening the long term survival of the humans, adding to the environmental protection developments, and in accordance with the international trade developments.

ISO 14000 is the second series of management standards published by ISO international.  It provides to the Users (enterprises, utilities, governments) an integrated management system on quality and environment, it also defines the common language of environment management.


ISO 14000 series:

ISO 14000 is a series of standards, 100 numbers are assigned to this series. From 1996, ISO has issued six standards, they are:

ISO 14001 -	Environmental management system－Specification with guidance for use
ISO 14004 -	Environmental management system－General guidelines on principles, systems and support techniques
ISO 14010 -	Guidelines for environmental auditing--General principles
ISO 14011 -	Guidelines for environmental auditing--audit procedures--Auditing of environmental management system
ISO 14012 -	Guidelines for environmental auditing--Qualification criteria fr environmental auditors
ISO 14020 -	Environmental management--Environmental labels and declarations--General principles
ISO 14050 -	Environmental management--vocabulary

ISO 14001 Environmental management system:

ISO 14001 EMS include factor identification, analysis and control, applicable laws and regulations, policy and objectives and implementation, prevent pollution, energy saving, increase efficiency, achieve sustainable growth.

In ISO 14000 series, ISO 14001 is the most important standard, it is used to set up an EMS ready for certification purposes, ISO 14001 certification is for an entity to be certified with the following characteristics:

1.  Market driven, voluntary.
2.  Focus on compliance with laws and regulations, no defined activities in implementation.
3.  Focus on pollution prevention and continual improvement.
4.  Focus on management system and its comprehensiveness.

ISO 9001:2008 Consulting and certification process:

Enquiry ↓	FormalWin will do our best to assist you in certification process, we provide consulting and supporting your choice of certification body.
Quotation ↓	Submit a "Certification data information" to the selected audit bodies, receive quotation from them, if necessary, ask for an interview.
Sign contract ↓	Upon mutual understanding and agreement, sign certification contract, define certification activities, receive "Certification acceptance letter" and "Auditee guidelines" from audit body. Related fees are payable about ten days prior to certification.
Initial visit ↓	When the audit body received your "Certification acceptance letter" , a lead auditor will inspect your business license, product introduction or manufacturing processes, also assess your QMS documents to see if they cover all the elements of the Standard, he will provide a written report to you.
Document assessment ↓	when necessary, the appointed lead auditor will pay a prelimary-visit to your company, so as to collect information, eliminate misunderstanding, and well prepared.
Pre-audit ↓	This step is not mandatory. But if you want to make sure to pass at the first audit with minimum non-conformity, your selected audit body is happy to provide you with a pre-audit with written reports for your corrective action.
Site-audit ↓	Before site audit, lead audit will provide an audit plan, after your consent, the audit team will carryout audit according to the agreed plan on-site, the audit will be objective and random to assess your QMS conformance with the Standard requirements. Any non-conformity will be reported in a standard format, you will have to accept and agree to take corrective actions.
Corrective Action ↓	For any non-conformity raised and reported, you must provide corrective action plans and ensure implementation.  Evidence of completion will have to be provided to the lead auditor. if a partial re-audit deemed necessary, a seperate arrangement will have to be made with the audit body at a later date.
Registration and issue of certificate ↓	Upon confirmation of passing the ISO 9000 certification, will will receive the official certification within a month or so from the audit body.
Follow-up audit ↓	Within the 3 year validity period, audit body will take a follow-up audit every year, this is to ensure continual compliance to the ISO 9000 requirements.
Re-certification ↓	A seperate quotation will be necessary with the audit body
